Under Attack…

To many non-believers, if you are a Christian there is nothing you can do that is virtuous. Even the good that you do will be dismissed as cynical or destructive.1

Our enemy, Satan, loves it when we are content to merely attend church.  However, when we are not content attend church, when we become the active and living Church, he goes on the offensive.

I believe this to be especially true when we examine the movement of The Church to care for orphans.  And when Christians adopt, Satan is very offended because the sacrificial nature of the Gospel is evident.

jonathan merrittIt seems that Kathryn Joyce’s book, The Child Catchers, has spawned an entire movement dedicated to criticizing the evangelical adoption movement to the point of demonizing it.  The latest to jump into the foray are authors featured on Salon.com, Patheos.com, and TheNation.com.

Jonathan Merrit has a great article combating these that I encourage you to read: http://jonathanmerritt.religionnews.com/2013/09/24/evangelical-adoption-movement-attacked/

Above all, when you have done all to stand — STAND.
